I'm sure there are going to be those people who say you don't need inspiration to write a novel. But you really do. Something has to inspire you to tell the story. It may not be as grand as the typical fantasy about muses whispering into your ear. It may just be a desire to tell a story that you came up with. This is inspiration.
What inspires your imagination? What do you use to make that ever-so-important part of your consciousness work for you and create your stories?
Great post for "I"! It's very true that both imagination and inspiration go together. It would nice if those muses would whisper an amazing story in my ear, but for now, like you said, I'll take inspiration from the world around me and use my imagination to expand on it.
ReplyDeleteBoth I's go together. :)

Imagination and inspiration definitely go hand in hand. I find inspiration in everything - people, places, things, songs, tv shows and movies, conversations. Usually it doesn't take much to trigger an idea (knocking on wood as I say that! haha). Great post, I'm glad I saw it on Twitter, and I'm a new follower both there and here!
ReplyDeleteHow very true. I can honestly say sometimes I have no idea where my inspiration comes from. Maybe that means my imagination - it can be quite wild.
ReplyDeleteGreat I post.
